Leading Colorado Arborist And Operator of ArborScape

He began work at the age of 10 with is father in Colorado and now has more than 30 years of hands-on experience. He studied horticulture at the University Of Wyoming, Tarrant County Junior College, And Front Range Community College.

David Merriman specializes in common Colorado tree species such as ash and pine trees and his main area of research is the sub-field of urban arboriculture.

As of 2018, he was one of six Colorado-registered consulting arborists with the American Society Of Consulting Arborists and is a past board member of the Rocky Mountain ISA.

Currently, he is one of the board members of the Colorado Tree Care Sectorship and is a team leader for Saluting Branches.

• Dedicated: David is passionate about helping other arborists and is generous in sharing the lessons he’s learned throughout his experience. He is also dedicated to providing the best tree care in the Denver Metro area.

• Teacher: Partnered with Jefferson County Work Force Center in 2008 to train arborists and horticultural professionals. Also works with Colorado Tree Care Sectorship to find new ways to train and diversify the field.

• Mentor: Devotes time to sharing his knowledge of the trade with at-risk youth to help create avenues and opportunities to grow and expand their own skills they otherwise may not have access to.

Teaching and Mentoring

• In 2008, David Merriman launched a program to train arborists with classroom and field instruction. He also designed ArborScape’s apprentice and safety program. Merriman works with at-risk youth, aiming to provide them better opportunities through this trade.

David’s Work With Clients

• David takes a common-sense approach to helping ArborScape’s clients. Understanding how a tree fits into their long-term plans helps guide his approach to creating the perfect tree care plan. He manages some of ArborScape’s largest commercial tree service clients including NREL, Army Corps Of Engineers; and the cities of Aurora, Lakewood, Brighton and Denver, CO.
